King Solomon was a knowledgeable man who thought a lot about the way life goes. He wrote these Words in Ecclesiastes 3 – 1-15

A Time for Everything 1There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: 2a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, 3a time to kill and a time to heal,  a time to tear down and a time to build, 4a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, 5a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, 6a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, 7a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, 8a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. 9What do workers gain from their toil?  10I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race.  11He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.  12I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live.  13That each of them may eat and drink and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.  14I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him. 15Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before, and God will call the past to account. [i]

We can look out the window and see what Season the earth is in. Winter, we feel the temperature getting colder and snow falling, in Spring we can feel the rain on our face as the sky gives way so that the things under the ground can flourish and be reborn. Flowers appear where there was only a patch of brown grass. Leaves come back green onto the bare forsaken trees that surround our landscape. Summer Comes too fast and the weather becomes hot and muggy. Gardens are planted and watered. The Corn in the Country Fields begins to grow. And Summer Slips into Fall where the leaves change color and fall to the ground leaving us with raking blisters. But the Cool Air feels good after the hot summer night is over. The breeze picks up and you can fly your kite again. But before you know it the snow again begins to fall and it starts all over again.

We as humans also go through seasons in our lives. But unlike the earth’s seasons we experience seasons that may include for some being single, Getting Married, Having children, and then the Empty Nest Season. There may be some seasons of going off to college, getting that first job, enlisting in the Service, or coming Home from War. It may be that challenging time right after the Divorce/re-marriage, Death of a Spouse, or dealing with a terminal illness that you have or a loved one.  Life can be exciting, funny, sad, or hard. We don’t realize how much time we have left when in the early seasons of our life.

But no matter what season you are in always remember that no season lasts forever. Change is always on its way. During each of our lifetimes, we will have good seasons and some bad seasons. But never let whatever season you are in define who you are. Be careful how you react to a bad season in your life and remember everyone around you is also going through a season in their lives as well. Each season will teach us different lessons. Remember what You are learning or going through in one season may help you go through something else in another season.

And Never Forget God is always working with you no matter what season of life you are in. [iii]
